Students are assigned to an ensemble group based on their level of experience. Parts and techniques for each instrument in the score are demonstrated including breaks, cues, dynamics, improvisation and rhythmic vocal trading and chanting.
Ed and Maria perform using drumset along with a variety of hand drums and percussion instruments, moving from one instrument to another in the ensemble. We begin with a general overview of World Music influenced by a variety of roscetti regions, including Samba, Afro-Cuban, and Olodum. WBR entails a six-piece ensemble made up of four multi-percussionists, a guitarist and bassist. Ed Roscetti and Maria Martinez perform using drumset and a selection of traditional hand drums, covering a variety roscett traditional and hybrid styles. WBR is a unique celebration of rhythm, energy, and the joy of ensemble music.
Students of all instruments, including voice, are encouraged to participate. First is The Rhythmic Guide, a breakdown of rhythms that can be applied to any given subdivision in any meter. Designated parts are then demonstrated, rehearsed, and percussion majors perform on drum set, surdo, djembe, djun-djun, marimba, etc.
Audience rosceyti then repeat these rhythms in a call-and-answer pattern, alternating with Ed and Maria. Participants then join the ensemble on stage to experience playing the percussion roscetit as a leader cues the breaks, dynamics, and trading of fours and vocal phrases within the ensemble.
The students are introduced to ways of creating their own loops in their home studios, using the latest technology available today Pro Tools, etc. Friends are invited to enjoy this day of fun and music, as students showcase their newly-developed rhythmic skills.

Melodic and chanting vocals are incorporated, adding layers of dynamic improvisation and melody.
Rhythms are run down the Five Steps and demonstrated in a variety of styles Funk, Hip-Hop, Rock, Jazz and World Beat grooves on drum roscetto and hand drums followed by interactive attendee participation from their seats.
